In addition to local hotels, the village has a range of shops, butcher, mini-market, post office etc., as well as the Lighthouse pub and a coffee shop, both of which offer good value quality meals.  The Bistro at the Rosneath Caravan park has a well-appointed bar restaurant. There are Chinese and Indian takeaways in Garelochhead, which deliver for a small charge.

The Knockderry House Hotel 

Overlooked by Knockderry Castle, this fine country house, designed by the illustrious 19th Century architect William Leiper, was originally the country residence of the Templeton family who were carpet makers for the British Empire. Now a four star hotel, it is justly famed for its comfort and fine dining.
